Meet Idriss, Bridging Blue Carbon, Community Conservation, and AI

Idriss Duramany Koromah is the Executive Director of Coastal Communities for Mangrove Protection – Sierra Leone (CCMP-SL), leading mangrove restoration, coastal resilience, and women’s livelihood initiatives across more than 50 coastal communities. Holding an MSc in Rural Development and Natural Resource Management from SLU in Sweden, he brings deep expertise in nature-based solutions, FPIC-based community engagement, and Verra VCS+CCB certified blue carbon finance. Idriss joins the Climate AI Nordics community to explore how AI can advance satellite-based mangrove monitoring, enhance blue carbon MRV, and make community-generated field data accessible to funders while preserving local ownership.
